Hospital Compare Information
A new resource from Medicare offers instant, free, easy-to-use information about the quality of care in America's hospitals. It's information about how well hospitals care for people with certain medical conditions. It's information we can all use.
To access the new information resource, Hospital Compare, visit www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov or Hospital Compare on www.medicare.gov and select “Compare Hospitals in Your Area” or call 1-800-MEDICARE.
The Medicare quality measures available on Hospital Compare are one way to see how well a hospital is caring for its patients. The measures show how well hospitals treat three specific conditions: heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia. The quality measures come from data from each hospital's patient records. Hospitals around the country have volunteered to provide Medicare with this information. Now, Medicare is sharing this information with you. You should also consult community resources, senior networks and your doctor for information when choosing a hospital.
