MMCS Provider Relations Team

The MMCS provider relations team is a resource for health care providers across the state, helping them navigate the Medicaid system and provide better care for their patients. At least twice each year, the provider representatives visit all primary care physicians (PCPs), as well as certain specialists, who accept patients on Medicaid or related programs. During these visits, or on request, the reps will:

  • Take comments and suggestions about how to improve Medicaid programs
  • Distribute information about the Medicaid program, the PCP program, quality improvement projects and MMCS
  • Answer questions regarding:
    - Medicaid, ArKids First B and other waivered programs
    - Benefits and requirements
    - Proper billing and paperwork
    - Clinical guidelines
    - Other information needed to provide cost-effective, high-quality care

The reps regularly visit Medicaid providers who practice:

  • Primary care
  • General surgery
  • Obstetrics and gynecology
  • Gastroenterology
  • Orthopedics
  • Ophthalmology
  • Otorhinolaryngology

If your medical specialty is not included in this list, but you would like to meet with an MMCS provider rep, call 1-888-987-1200, ext. 8686.
