National Patient Safety Initiative (NPSI)
As part of the National Patient Safety Initiative (NPSI), AFMC has partnered with hospitals, nursing homes and others who are committed to health care quality, to prevent patient harm by improving health care processes and systems.
AFMC works closely with selected hospitals and nursing homes to:

Prevent healthcare-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) infections

Reduce rates of pressure ulcers in nursing homes and hospitals

Improve inpatient surgical safety and heart failure treatment in hospitals

Improve drug safety

Provide quality improvement technical assistance to nursing homes in need
