Quality Improvement Projects for Hospitals
Patients, providers and payors are putting a high priority on improving the quality of care in our nation's hospitals. Here in Arkansas, AFMC is working with all of these groups as well as other public and private partners, and it is paying off in measurable quality improvement.
The focus of our work with hospitals is driven mainly by our relationship with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, as well as Arkansas Medicaid. CMS has identified certain standards of care, called quality measures. AFMC tracks performance and improvement in these measures and works with providers to streamline and standardize processes to ensure critical steps are not missed.
Though these projects are funded and driven largely by Medicare and Medicaid, their impact and results can potentially improve care for patients throughout Arkansas -- and beyond.
