Home health agencies
Home health professionals are in an excellent position to combat the spread of MRSA, both in a health care facility and in the community. Diligent attention to any new lesions, changes in wounds or incisions, or worsening health problems can help ensure prompt referral, diagnosis and treatment of new MRSA infections — a critical step in preventing spread. Home health workers can also help educate their patients, as well as their patients' home caregivers and family members, about how to avoid contracting MRSA or spreading it to others. Such communication can greatly increase overall public awareness about this growing threat to public health.
