ADHD
Project
Overview and Indicators
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common, yet challenging, clinical issue, and many physicians, educators and parents continue to have questions about the diagnosis and management of this attention disorder.
There are no definitive diagnostic tests for ADHD, and clinical guidelines and research offer vague and sometimes contradictory assistance. AFMC’s ADHD project was developed to provide guidance and resources for the Arkansas medical community about diagnosis, documentation and expectations for treatment.
The project’s quality indicators are:
- Use of standardized assessment tools to assist with consistent, detailed diagnosis and development of a treatment plan
- Follow the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of ADHD
