After a nationwide search, the AFMC Board of Directors selected John Selig to assume the role of the company’s next CEO, effective September 1. Ray Hanley is retiring after leading the healthcare nonprofit for over a decade. “It is my pleasure to entrust the success of the future to someone such as John,” said Hanley. “I’ve known John professionally for many years. His leadership, expertise and vision align with AFMC’s future growth and diversification plans. The Board made an excellent hire.”
John Selig, a native of De Queen, most recently served as Vice President of Public Sector Growth for Optum, a health services innovation company. Selig is no stranger to healthcare in Arkansas and understands the ever-changing landscape. Prior to joining Optum, he served as Director of the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) for ten years. “I am honored to be the Board’s choice as AFMC’s newest CEO. AFMC has strong leadership, and I am delighted to be entrusted with the future of the company.”
This announcement comes as AFMC is celebrating its 50th year. John and his wife Jeannie live in Benton. They have three children and are avid cyclists and travelers.
