Early & Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment

Keep your child healthy with EPSDT visits

As parents, we want to do everything we can to keep our children healthy. Well-child checkups are an important way to do that. Your doctor may refer to them as early and periodic screening, diagnostic and treatment (EPSDT) visits.

These checkups help your doctor find problems or concerns with your child’s health and development. They include treatment and all the shots or lab work your child needs.

Medicaid will pay for these visits if your child is eligible for Medicaid and under age 21. As a parent, you may also qualify for wellness checkups if you are eligible for Medicaid and under age 21.
